Saving the LRT…

The LRT’s quest for a new home…

Founder Sean O’Kane has his sights set on the former Magistrates Court in the centre of Lewes (pictured).  Making the ex-court available to Lewes Rep as the new Phoenix would go some way to filling  the huge gap that has been left in the community and cultural life of Lewes and East Sussex in general.former Magistrates Court

The former court has space suitable for performances and also rooms that could be used by individual artists. It could also offer unique facilities enabling Lewes Rep to extend its community programme to the disabled, children and the elderly.

In addition to being a new home for the LRT the empty building could provide a revenue stream for local traders. Putting the ex-court to this use would avoid the expensive proposed demolition of a bomb-proof building fewer than 30 years old that is currently on offer.

Please help us to encourage more support for the LRT application and the creation of a community theatre, arts & cultural centre at the former Magistrates’ Court by signing our on-line petition:

Friends, family and colleagues can also join in by promoting the LRT’s planning appeal through Facebook and Twitter.  It’s really just a click away!
